ArtrA was originally developed as an industrial solution for linking drawings and documents to 3D plant models. It was developed by piping design engineers with more than thirty years industry experience who worked the transition from manual drafting through to 2D CAD and then intelligent 3D plant design systems. This knowledge is the basis of today’s ArtrA system which is focused on providing solutions to real life processes.
Industrial projects can be complex and large scale and getting access to the right information has always been a challenge. By using the 3D model as the gateway to plant information ArtrA allows plant information to be accessed and reviewed in context with its surroundings. This results in a better understanding of the facility which in turn reduces risk and increases efficiency for operations staff.
ArtrA uses Navisworks as it’s model viewer and so can use 3D models from any of the leading plant design systems including PDMS, PDS, Intergraph Smartplant, Autodesk Plant 3D, CADworx, CADPIPE, Autoplant and many other 3D systems used in plant design including Tekla Structures and Revit software.
As a PLM system ArtrA provides database management with a graphical front-end and can be easily customised without any specialist programming skills. Any plant information can be handled whether its for routine maintenance or the management of thousands of documents typically found on many plants.
